Machu Picchu, the lost city of the Incas has been referred to as the eighth wonder of the world. We had the fortunate opportunity to discover and experience the Inca Trail that lead us to the great city.
Rich enjoys Day 1 on the Inca Trail.
On our first day, our guide, Fredy, explains to us Inca history and traditions and provides insights to the Inca Trail and the ruins along its route.
Day 2- Kelly enjoys a break on the trail while a hard working porter runs down the trail with a lot of kilograms on his back!
Day 2- Rich, Mike and Linda make it to the top of Dead Woman's Pass at 4200 meters.
Day 2- All of the trekkers stopped at one camp to eat lunch in the rain.
Morning of Day 3 as we break camp. We camped at Lake Yanacocha which sat at approximately 12,000 feet offering amazing views of the valley far below.
